700 Participate in CASTLE's 6th Annual Stomp Out Child Abuse 5K Run
CASTLE is pleased to announce the recent STOMP OUT CHILD ABUSE 5k Run/ Walk event raised $25k for the prevention of child abuse on the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee counties. CASTLE exceeded all expectations when the number of participants doubled on the streets surrounding the Port St. Lucie Civic Center. At 7:30 252 runners became the center of attention as they ran the course. The walkers were not to be outdone at 9:00. Over 400 of them walked their way along the lake waving their blue and white flags to show their support for CASTLE’s child abuse prevention efforts. As the presenting sponsor QVC took the stage and the crowd cheered. The Kids Zone was sponsored by Liberty Medical Supply to entertain all the children. Guests listened to the sounds of Traxx Entertainment during the walk/run.

This year’s event took place in abnormally seasonally high heat with one runner collapsing at the finish line. He was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. He and his family are thankful to all who assisted in his recovery. Many thanks to everyone who made this year’s event possible.
